Defending Our Values The Washington Post this morning published an article by Rear Admiral Jamie Barnett USN, (Ret.) urging senior military leaders to support military readiness by backing repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Barnett notes, “It is up to Congress and the president to craft policy on gay men and lesbians serving in the military, but it is the responsibility of senior military commanders to advise our nation's leaders on how law and policy affect military readiness.”
About Time Coinciding with this week's historic Congressional hearings, Time magazine published an article revisiting the issue of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." The story, written by John Cloud, asks an important and fundamental question, "Do we want a military where Americans are not forced to lie about their most important emotional bonds?"
